Client feedback
Who can book for treatments?
Helios offers its subsidised services mainly to people living with HIV who are struggling with physical or mental health problems and would not otherwise be able to afford such treatments. We do sometimes also help people with other challenging health conditions.
We particularly want to offer services to vulnerable people, Black women, trans people and long-term HIV diagnosed.
How much will it cost?
We have low-cost rates of £20 a session for those who are on low incomes, and in special cases a further reduction is given – we aim to make it affordable to all those who need our services.
An agreement will be made on the amount of payment that clients can contribute according to their personal situation.
Physical Therapies
We offer a range of complementary therapies that work alongside standard medical care to alleviate some symptoms and help people cope better with their long-term health conditions.
These therapies include:
- osteopathy
- acupuncture
- therapeutic massage
- reflexology
- aromatherapy
- shiatsu
- nutrition advice
- other holistic therapies
Talking Therapies
Psychotherapy and counselling are often called ‘talking therapies’ as they usually involve talking about an emotional difficulty with a trained therapist. That might be anything from grief to anxiety, relationship difficulties to issues with low self-esteem.
Anyone can benefit from becoming more aware of how they see the world and why.
Our therapists are trained to help you express your thoughts and feelings and explore what comes up when you do. They listen and provide a non-judgmental space so you can feel heard and understood.
We have different types of talking therapy
- psychotherapy
- counselling
- EFT (tapping)
